Getting Cowork on mobile to work with AgentDocs

You can connect AgentDocs to Claude Cowork on mobile the same way you would on desktop: add it as a custom MCP connector once, and because Claude's remote connectors are cloud-hosted, it becomes available in your mobile conversations too. AgentDocs is the store your agent keeps your docs, sheets and databases in, all over one link. This is a practical, honest walkthrough, including the parts that are still a little rough.

AgentDocs is free to start, no per-seat fees, pricing may change. It is not affiliated with Anthropic or Claude Cowork.

Why pair Cowork on mobile with AgentDocs

Claude Cowork is good at doing work in a conversation. What a conversation doesn't have is a memory of its own. Close the chat and the structured stuff you built goes with it.

AgentDocs is the persistent layer underneath. It gives your agent real, durable surfaces (Docs, Sheets, Slides, a Database, a Drive and Pages) that survive across sessions and across devices. So the pairing is simple: Cowork is where you talk to the agent; AgentDocs is where the work lives.

On mobile that matters more, not less. You're often capturing something on the move ("add Marcus to the CRM", "log that expense", "update today's notes") and you want it to land somewhere real, not evaporate when you lock your phone. With AgentDocs connected, a sentence typed on the train writes a row you'll still have at your desk.

What "connected over MCP" actually means

AgentDocs exposes itself as a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector at a single URL:

https://getagentdocs.com/mcp

MCP is the open standard Claude uses to reach external tools. Because AgentDocs is a remote connector (hosted in the cloud, not on your laptop), it isn't tied to one machine. Anthropic's connectors work this way across Claude on web, desktop and mobile. In practice that means you configure AgentDocs once on your account and it's reachable from your phone without any extra mobile-specific setup.

One link gives your agent read-write access to all six surfaces. There's nothing to install.

Setup: add AgentDocs as a custom connector

The reliable path is to add the connector once, then use it in a mobile conversation.

  1. Open connector settings. In Claude, go to Settings / Customize → Connectors. On individual (Pro/Max) plans this is under your own settings; on Team/Enterprise it's under Organization settings and may need an admin.
  2. Add a custom connector. Click + / Add, choose to add a custom connector, and paste the URL:

`` https://getagentdocs.com/mcp `` Give it a name like "AgentDocs".

  1. Sign in with Google. AgentDocs authenticates over OAuth. You'll be sent to a Google sign-in the first time; approve it and you're linked. (You don't need to touch the "OAuth Client ID / Secret" advanced fields. AgentDocs handles auth for you.)
  2. Enable it in a mobile conversation. Open Claude on your phone, start (or open) a conversation, and enable connectors for that chat. This is usually the + control near the message box, then Connectors, then toggle AgentDocs on.
  3. Test it. Ask: "Using AgentDocs, list my documents" or "Create a doc in AgentDocs called Mobile test and add three bullet points." If it reads or writes, you're connected.

A quick note on where you do step 1–3: because remote connectors are attached to your Claude account rather than a device, the cleanest experience is to add the connector once on web or desktop, then it simply appears in your mobile sessions. If your mobile app exposes the same connector settings, you can do it entirely on the phone, but adding it on a bigger screen and letting it sync across is the path we'd recommend.

A first thing to try from your phone

Once it's live, a good first test of the pairing:

> "Using AgentDocs, start a note called Today and jot down what I tell you through the day. Add each thing as a bullet with a timestamp."

Then, whenever a thought lands, tell Cowork on your phone and it appends to the same note. At the end of the day that note is still there, on any device, in any Claude session, because it lives in AgentDocs, not in the chat.

What works, and what's still rough

Being straight about this, because it's an early product:

What works well

  • Adding the connector is a one-time job, and it genuinely does carry across to mobile.
  • Reading and writing Docs, Sheets and the Database from a phone conversation works today.
  • No install, no card to start, no per-seat fee.

What's still rough

  • Adding a brand-new connector is easier on a big screen. Pasting a URL and completing an OAuth sign-in is more comfortable on web or desktop; we'd add AgentDocs there first, then use it on mobile.
  • You have to name the tool. Mobile phrasing tends to be terse, and the agent won't always reach for AgentDocs unless you say "using AgentDocs". Saying it explicitly the first few times removes the guesswork.
  • Connector UIs move. Claude's settings labels and the exact tap-path to enable a connector in a conversation change from time to time and can differ a little between platforms. If a menu isn't quite where this guide says, look for the nearest "Connectors" option. The concept (add a remote connector by URL, sign in, toggle it on per chat) stays stable even when the wording changes.
